How the Monthly Class Works
Each month includes 4 classes, with one class per week.
The class is designed as ongoing training, allowing actors to continue month to month rather than treating each four-week cycle as a separate course.
Material and exercises change from month to month, so actors can keep working different parts of the audition and on-camera process while building on previous training.
Actors may work on prepared scenes, audition sides, cold reads, self-tapes, callbacks, or other material depending on the focus of the class.
Actors joining Ongoing On-Camera Training for the first time should have completed On-Camera Foundations or previous on-camera training and must receive approval before enrolling.
Practical Information
Is Ongoing On-Camera Training a drop-in class?
No. Each month is a four-class training cycle, with one class per week. The program is designed for actors who want regular practice and continued coaching rather than a single standalone session. You can continue training from month to month.
Do I need previous on-camera experience?
Yes. You should have completed On-Camera Foundations or previous on-camera training before joining Ongoing On-Camera Training.
Previous training does not need to have been at Open Frame Studios.
I’ve taken an on-camera class somewhere else. Do I still need to take On-Camera Foundations?
Not necessarily. Previous on-camera training at another school, studio, or program may meet the prerequisite. Contact Dustin before enrolling so he can confirm whether Ongoing On-Camera Training is the right fit for you.
What if I’m not sure whether this class is right for me?
Get in touch with Dustin and let him know about your previous on-camera training. He can help you determine whether Ongoing On-Camera Training is the right next step for you.
How is this different from the On Camera Technique + Self-Tape Lab?
The On Camera Technique + Self-Tape Lab is a standalone, drop-in class with a strong focus on self-tape technique and practical camera skills. Ongoing On-Camera Training is a four-week monthly program built around consistent practice, continued coaching, scene work, auditions, callbacks, self-tapes, and developing a repeatable on-camera process over time.
What happens in a month with five Saturdays?
Each monthly cycle still includes four classes. When a month has five Saturdays, one Saturday is skipped. The class calendar will always show the four scheduled training dates for that month.
Will we work on the same material every month?
No. Material and exercises change from month to month. Depending on the focus of the class, you may work on prepared scenes, film or television sides, cold reads, self-tapes, callbacks, commercial material, or other on-camera work.
Can experienced actors take this class?
Yes. Actors with previous on-camera training can use the monthly format to keep their camera work active, refine their audition process, work through new material, and receive continued coaching and redirection.
New participants still require approval before joining.
Where does Ongoing On-Camera Training take place?
Classes are held in person at Diez Gallery, Gibraltarstraat 74-B, 1055 NS Amsterdam.
Are classes taught in English?
Yes. Open Frame Studios classes are taught in English and welcome both Dutch and international actors.
