The Breakdown

Next Class Starts in August

Dustin Lewis teaching an acting class

About the Class

2 week class | Open to all

The Breakdown is a four-week foundational acting class in Amsterdam built around the Dirty Dozen process.

This class gives actors a practical, repeatable way into the work by focusing on the actor’s full instrument: warm-up, vocalization, breath, relaxation, meditation, memorization, and the ability to feel free, present, and prepared before stepping into the scene.

From there, actors begin applying that preparation to script analysis, scene study, text work, and playable choices. Instead of guessing how to begin, actors learn how to break down a scene, ask stronger questions, connect personally to the material, and build a clear path from the page into performance.

The Breakdown is ideal for actors who want a more grounded process, whether they are new to acting, returning to training, or looking for stronger tools to support auditions, rehearsals, and scene work.

It is a focused, supportive space for actors to slow down, get specific, and learn how to make the work active, personal, embodied, and playable.
