Come Work With Us
This is an introduction to Open Frame Studios and the way we work.
You’ll meet Dustin Lewis and Loveday Smith, take part in exercises in the room, and experience some of the different approaches used across our training.
The class is designed to give you a feel for the studio, the teachers, and the kind of work we do before deciding whether you want to continue with one of our classes or training pathways.
This is not specifically a Meisner taster class. It is an introduction to Open Frame Studios as a whole
What You Can Bring
There is no assigned material.
Bring a short piece of prepared acting material you would like to explore during the class. That could be
- A short scene
- Audition sides
- Self-tape material
- A monologue
- Another short piece of prepared acting material
Choose something you are already interested in working on. The goal is to spend the session doing real work rather than preparing for a specific classroom exercise.
Because this is a group class, you will also learn by watching, listening, asking questions, and taking part in the work happening throughout the room.
What We'll Explore
The class will introduce you to several elements that show up across Open Frame Studios training.
Rather than focusing on one specific technique, you’ll work through a selection of exercises designed to give you a feel for how we approach listening, presence, connection, preparation, and working truthfully in the room.
The exact exercises may vary from session to session.
There is no pressure to perform or prepare material in advance. The purpose is to experience the work, meet the teachers, and see whether Open Frame Studios feels like the right place for your training.

Meet Dustin Lewis
Founder · Actor · Acting Teacher
Dustin Lewis is the founder of Open Frame Studios and has more than 30 years of professional acting and teaching experience.
His work spans film, television, and theatre, including productions for Marvel, Blumhouse, HBO, and Fox.
His approach to training is practical and actor-focused. Rather than teaching one correct way to perform, Dustin helps actors build tools, confidence, instincts, and a process they can rely on in auditions, rehearsals, on set, and in their own preparation.
Meet Loveday Smith
Actor · Instructor · Creative Collaborator
Loveday Smith is a British actor and performer working across film, television, theatre, voice-over, and performance art. Based in the Netherlands since 2013, her recent screen credits include Hunter Street, Goede Tijden Slechte Tijden, Professor T, and Bookish. She brings extensive professional experience across stage and screen to her work with actors at Open Frame Studios.
Why Open Frame Studios?
Open Frame Studios was created around a simple idea: acting training should give you tools you can continue using when the teacher is no longer standing beside you.
The work is designed to help actors become more specific, more confident, and more trusting of their own instincts.
This free workshop gives you a chance to experience that approach firsthand, ask questions, meet Dustin, and see whether Open Frame feels like the right place for your work.

Practical Information
Do I need acting experience?
No. The class is open to actors at all levels, from people just beginning their training to experienced and working professionals.
Do I need to prepare something?
Yes. Bring a short piece of acting material you would like to work on. It can be a scene, audition sides, self-tape material, monologue, or another short piece.
Will everyone work during the class?
The class is designed as a small working session with only eight actors. Dustin will work with the actors and material in the room, and everyone will also take part by watching, listening, discussing the work, and learning from each other.
Can I attend more than one class?
No. To make the class available to as many actors as possible, each person may register for one of the three free sessions.
What happens if my preferred session is full?
You can join the waitlist. If a place becomes available, Open Frame Studios will contact you.
