What the Work Covers

This pathway is rooted in the traditional Meisner Technique — not an offshoot or watered-down version of the work. Students move through the foundational “first-year” training often found in a two-year conservatory-style Meisner program, including repetition, independent activity, emotional preparation, and the development of truthful moment-to-moment behavior.

From there, the work expands into the advanced “second-year” elements of the technique, introducing Point of View, impediments, text work, character work, and deeper scene study. The goal is not simply to understand the exercises, but to apply them in a way that supports the actor’s full instrument, professional practice, and real-world work in auditions, rehearsals, on-camera performance, and live performance.

The pathway concludes with a full actor showcase for friends, family, and invited industry professionals, giving students the opportunity to bring the work into performance and share their growth in a professional setting.

This isn’t a taster session. It’s a six-month commitment for actors who are serious about their craft and ready to do the work that makes permanent change.

Who Should Apply

Technique-Based Training is open to actors at all stages of their journey, from those with prior training or professional experience to those who are just beginning their work. This pathway is rooted in a rigorous, structured approach to the traditional Meisner Technique in Amsterdam.

For actors with little to no formal training, we want to be clear: this work requires commitment, openness, discipline, and a willingness to train deeply over time. The Meisner Technique is not about quick results or surface-level performance. It asks the actor to listen truthfully, respond honestly, and build a strong, repeatable process from the ground up.

If you are new to acting or unsure whether this pathway is the right place to begin, there are several ways to build toward the technique work through our other classes and workshops. That said, new actors are absolutely welcome to begin here if they are ready to make the commitment.

Whether you are returning to the basics, deepening your foundation, rebuilding your instrument, or looking for serious acting training in Amsterdam, this pathway is designed to meet you where you are while challenging you to grow.
